White Oak Science Department Computer Use Policy
To support a focused and equitable learning environment that honors academic integrity, the following expectations apply regarding technology use in this science class:
Only school-issued chromebooks will be used during class time.
*Students must use their school-issued chromebook for all in-class assignments, tests, quizzes, and projects.
*Personal laptops, tablets, smartwatches, and cell phones are not permitted for use on any classwork or assessments.
Students are expected to be prepared for class.
*Students are expected to bring their charged chromebook (or a charger) to class every day.
*Students can check teachers’ blogs and Google Classroom for upcoming assignments.
*Students who fail to bring a school-issued chromebook (charged) on days when in-class digital work is assigned will result in a 15-point deduction from the student’s “Responsibility Grade” for the nine-week marking period.
The Responsibility Grade is a comprehension level grade that is assessed each nine-week marking period.
Students are expected to demonstrate academic integrity and proper technology use during class.
*Students using unauthorized devices during class will be considered a violation of the academic integrity policy and will be handled accordingly.
*Students attempting to bypass digital restrictions, communicate during assessments, or access unauthorized content will result in disciplinary action.
